No referees on U6 this year

Every year we have issues with mod players and jewelry.  Law 4 in the Laws of the Game for referees states that for safety reasons players may not wear jewelry.  If a referee asks your player to remove their jewelry, they must do so.  Please do not argue this point.

Continue to send in your referee evaluations; it is our best tool for utilizing FWSRA mentoring program; knowing what to teach at our monthly trainings, and communicating with the referees on their progress.

It is equally beneficial to new referees, as well as those wanting to move up to the next higher level of game.

Match & Events Coordinator Year End Report – Sharon Woodford

I developed and maintained the Mod Club fall league schedules as well as practice schedules for the 2008 year due.  I also developed the 2008 Tracy Whitney Jamboree schedule.  I have coordinated with the Fields Coordinators for both our Club and Federal Way United to obtain practice and game fields.

The following is a list of the number of teams that played soccer in Federal Way last year:

2008 Tracy Whitney Report – Sharon Woodford

Teams: We had 99 teams, 10 more teams than in 2007 and 32 of those 99 teams were from outside of Federal Way.

Fields: This year we again used Saghalie Middle School which worked great.

Finances: The Mod Club Treasurer can report on this.

Vendors: We had T-Shirts by Design sell t-shirts again this year and that went very well.  I would like to use them again next year.  We had no concessions vendor this year.

Future: Should we have concessions?  2009 dates are September 26th & 27th for U9/U10 and October 3rd & 4th for U6-U8.  The website has been updated with the 2009 application and information.

Plans for 2008

I would like to continue on as Match & Events Coordinator and Tracy Whitney Jamboree Director if the Club will allow.  I am also the FWSA Webmaster, State Cup Rep, and Blast Off Co-Tournament Director.  (I will again be trying to resign as the Federal Way United (FWU) Soccer Club Girl’s Coordinator.)

Thank you,

Sharon Woodford

Fall 2008

Our player count was down this year which may be due to us opening and closing Bonzi registration earlier than usual.  We had some complaints but once people get use to having an earlier registration date it should be okay.

I have been doing boy’s and girl’s registration this year.  Michele Magruder volunteered to be the Girl’s registrar and I’m very excited to have another person helping and she is a great addition to the team.

Spring 2008

Spring 2008 registration went really well.  Sharon Woodford and Heather Hamashima collected the registration forms and money and I entered players into the system that had not played for Federal Way Mod Soccer before.
