Policy 13
Revised April 13, 2009
Guidelines for
Acceptance of Volunteers to Coach
All individuals that desire to coach in the Federal Way Mod Soccer Club must complete and submit a coaching application to the Club by the indicated deadline. Coaches must have a current Risk Management clearance, attend coaching clinic(s) and other activities as determined by the Club, and be in good standing with FWMSC and FWU in order to be a coach. Head Coach must be at least 18 years of age.
The Federal Way Mod Soccer Club Board may review all potential individuals who desire to coach a Mod Soccer Club team. At the Boards discretion, they may deny a potential individual the opportunity to be a coach, assistant coach, manager or team official. Decisions may be based on the following criteria, but are not limited to this criteria:
1. RMA - valid Risk Management Acceptance (RMA) clearance from the Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA);
2. Financial standing with the FWMSC and FWU;
3. Disciplinary actions,
4. Relationship with the FWMSC (ie adherence to deadlines, policies, etc.);
5. Recommendations by parents.
If the FWMSC Board determines that an individual should not be involved with a Mod Soccer Club team (ie coach, assistant coach, team manager or team official), the Board must vote on the issue. A simply majority of the Board is needed to take action.
