BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The meeting of the Federal Way Modified Soccer Club was
called to order by Vice President Mary Ward at 7:10
p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2006
at Round Table Pizza in Federal Way.
The Attendees included:

A Quorum was achieved.

meeting hightlights:

Totem is replacing the goals at Totem
Middle School.

Fiasco on
the update of the website: contract
called for a website that would allow easy transition of information from our
old site. Right now it is not possible
to move the info without buying a special program. Trying to work it out with the website
designed, but new website implementation is delayed as a result.
SECRETARY –

TREASURER – Sandy Bjork
- Sandy
Bjork has resigned as treasurer.
Kathy Barnes has stepped forward to replace Sandy. Vote taken: Kathy Barnes is approved as new
Treasurer.
- Current
balance in the accounts and CDs for Federal Way Mod Soccer club is
$87,372.28.

REFEREE COORDINATOR – Kraig Ealy for Judy Simone Johnson
- Mentoring
of mod referees has been in place at both Sacajawea and Decatur for Spring
Soccer season.
- Reminder
of no goalkeepers at u6 and U7 and in the Spirit of the Game, referees can
advise teams that no player can be camped in front of the goal in a
defensive posture looking to be a goalkeeper.
- No
parents or coaches behind the goals for U8.
FIELDS COORDINATOR- Neil Goldingay
- Rob
Walker wants to use the U10 goals for goalkeeper training on Friday
nights, approval was given and a key provided to Rob.

Seattle also wants to use the goals:

OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS:
- FUNDRAISER: Three volunteers have stepped forward for fundraiser for
Fall 2006.
They will work with Heather to get the Fall
fundraiser underway.
- U7 GOALS: Approved purchase of score foldable
goals 4’ by 5’ goals, $58.95 per set.
Approved for U7s.
- Uniform
Issue- Girls U9 team
with Pink uniforms. Reminder that uniforms must be in one or
combination of the club colors:
RED, BLACK, BLUE and WHITE.
NO team is approved to wear anything outside of the club colors.
- Approved
FALL fees for 2006: $40.00
for U6, $65.00 for U7 through U10.
Participation in the fall fundraiser is mandatory unless you buyout
for $30.00 at time of registration!
- Tracy
Whitney fees: Approved the same
schedule of fees as last year: U6
$30.00, U7 is $75.00, U8 is $105.00, U9 is $120.00, and U10 is $135.00.
- Proposed
calendar approved with August changes:
Team registration packets due to age group coordinator by August 3, 2006.
Good of the Game:
- School
board meeting on May 9 at 7p.m.
at City Hall, proposal to cut middle school sports from budget. Please attend if this is an issue for
you. You can also voice your
concern by e-mailing the school board.
- Referees: An Entry level grade 8 clinic will be
offered May 15, 16, 17, and May 22, 23, 24. Good time to get referee certificate and
gain experience by refereeing at Summer
tournaments.

NEXT MEETING IS THE COACHES MEETING. IT WILL TAKE PLACE AT SACAJAWEA
MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE CAFETERIA AT 6:30 p.m.
