BOARD MEETING MINUTES

June 12, 2006

 

The meeting of the Federal Way Modified Soccer Club was called to order by Vice President Mary Ward at 8:08 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 at Sacajawea Middle School Cafeteria in Federal Way.  This meeting was held immediately after the Coaches meeting.

A Quorum was achieved.  ( A Quorum of the club shall consist of 6 (six) board members with at least 3 (three) of them being elected officers.)

 

 

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – OPEN POSITION

 

VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Mary Ward

            Mary opened up the floor to Rob Walker, the coaching director for Federal Way United:   

·        Rob can offer assistance in the areas of coach and player development for the mod club.

·        In light of the fact that we have coaches of our teams who may be affiliated with private soccer camp organizations who would like access to the mod player base, the suggestion was made to allow soccer camps to have their website information available on the Links section of our website.

·        Mod bylaws need to change in order to give authority to Rob to act on behalf of mod. 

 

 

SECRETARY – Sally Boyer (OPEN POSITION)

                        Sally informed us via e-mail of her resignation from this position due to family commitments.  Thank you to Sally for your months of assistance to the club!

BOYS REGISTRAR – Cheryl Guthrie

  • Nothing to report

 

 

GIRLS REGISTRAR- Tricia Arroyo

  • Will send out an e-mail to coaches with age group coordinator information.  At the coaches meeting several people volunteered to assist with age group coordination.

 

 2nd VICE PRESIDENT OF ADMINISTRATION – Ken Landreth  present by report

  • Dealt with two Spring Soccer situations involving complaints of rough play and inappropriate sideline behavior.  Both resolved informally with follow up to the participants.

 

REFEREE COORDINATOR –  Judy Simone Johnson

  • Introduced idea of changing policies to reflect the white yellow and red card system for the young referees.  Table this to the next meeting for further discussion.
  • Request to the mod club to consider sponsoring a 2 hour referee instruction for mod coaches to highlight rules.  Judy will follow up on cost and time needed.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Club colors are Red White Blue and black.  No other colors may be worn on the uniforms of the Mod teams.  Need to follow up with 2 teams regarding club colors.

 

 

Meeting adjourned 9:15 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Monday July 10, 2006 at 7 p.m. at the Round Table Pizza in Federal Way.
