BOARD MEETING MINUTES

14, 2006
The meeting of the Federal Way Modified Soccer Club was
called to order by Vice President Mary Ward at 7:15
p.m. on Monday, August 14,
2006 at Round Table Pizza in Federal Way.
The Attendees included:

BOYS REGISTRAR
– Cheryl Guthrie
- This
is Cheryl’s last season as boy’s registrar. Novella Frasier has volunteered to take
over starting in Spring League.
- Reminder
to register with the CORRECT birthdate! Registrars will move children to the
correct team.
- Still
working on getting all the registration materials into the system and
sorting out teams.
GIRLS REGISTRAR- Tricia Arroyo (not present)
- This
is Tricia’s last season as girls registrar.
- Bonzi system continues to be a source of frustration.
- Difficulty
this year recruiting coaches for GU10…lost 3 coaches when kids moved on to
select. Result is not enough
openings for all the returning players.
- MORE
VOLUNTEERS needed.
2nd VICE PRESIDENT OF
ADMINISTRATION – Ken Landreth not present

REFEREE COORDINATOR – Judy Simone Johnson
- Brought
forward idea to have a
modified referee clinic/rules refresher for coaches at the
next meeting. Cost to club, $5.00
per coach for the book. Great idea!
Try to get this organized for next month.
FIELDS COORDINATOR- Jarrod Golden
- Moved
the U10 goals from Sac. Re-machined
the goals so they don’t come apart.
- Need
another cash card for home depot truck rental to move the goals
- Reminder
that Federal Way Schools did not water their fields this summer so it will
take awhile for the fields to come back this fall.
- Pop
up goals for U6 should have been ordered.
EQUIPMENT COORDINATOR – Stephanie Knapp
- Reminder
that the socks we hand out is all that is
available. Long socks easily fold
down.
- Looking
to donate old balls to schools or Brazil
via Cory Zimmer.

MATCH AND EVENT COORDINATOR: Kristina Okezie
- Kristina
is still waiting on all the team info from age group coordinators. Look for Fall
schedule beginning of September. 1st
game for U7 to U10 will be 9/9/06.
- Please
be patient on responses for practice fields. E-mails are returned as soon as
possible.
WEBMASTER –
Sharon Woodford

Will work on website in the next couple of months. No time in August and September to work on
the website.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Approved
Policy 6 which gives referees a paper warning system to deal with inaapropriate sideline behavior.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Approved
sponsorship for teams: Doxon Toyota
and Pacific Northwest Equipment.
Reminder that sponsors nust be
approved. Money given from sponsor
to the club, and then the club pays out the funds to the team.
- CLUB
COLORS ARE RED WHITE BLUE AND BLACK.
Pink is not an approved color, neither is maroon or burgundy. All teams that purchase uniforms must
wear a combination of red white blue or black.
- BU7
team, coached by Derek Marino, approved to move as a team to U8 for the
year. Playing up as a team will be
addressed on a case by case basis and the approval needs to be renewed
annually.
- Tracy
Whitney Jamboree: U9 and U10 to
play Sept 30 and Oct. 1. U6 to U8
play October 8 and 9. Contracting
for concessions. Mary Ward to
coordinate medals for competitors.
Need Volunteers to line fields and move goals.
