Meeting Minutes

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.  

July minutes approved.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT- Working on organization and bylaw concepts for Federal Way Soccer Association.  Most information will be discussed under District 3 report and new business.

 

VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT – No Report

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT- Open position.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT- Handed out balance sheet.

Working an accounts receivable issue with United.  United disagrees with the request for payment of a past Bonzi Bill.  Short and long term field funds are at 56,000 dollars.  Note: This is about 5% of the cost of converting a field to artificial turf.

 

REGISTRAR’S REPORT- No Report

 

RISK MANAGEMENT - No Report

 

2nd VP of ADMINISTRATION  All quiet this time of year.

 


FIELD’S REPORT – Saghalie turf replacement will run late into the season.  George wants to talk more about goal posts.  We should be receiving the goals for Sac this week.

Our agreement with Decatur ends this year and the final payment is due in October.  George will initiate discussions with the Decatur athletic director to extend and/or amend the current agreement.  This will set the direction for Beamer discussions next year.

 

FW MOD Fall season is ready to start and the Tracey Whitney Jamboree will be held at the end of the month.  There was an increase in players in the Club; especially in the U6 age group.  Looks like the increase in numbers will cover the cost of the signs posted around the city.

 

FW UNITED -  Player cards and getting the game schedules published has been a challenge this year..

 

DISTRICT 3 REPORT – Meeting will be held on the September 10th.

 

WEBMASTER - The United teams are updated and Mod Club teams will be updated this month.

REFEREE REPORT – No Report

 

TOURNAMENT CHAIR – No report

 

OLD  BUSINESS - None.

 

NEW BUSINESS – Organizational discussion.  Perry presented a handout of several clubs and associations from their web published board positions and duties.  The discussion was looking at size, number of board positions, title of board positions, and key points about coaching directors and staffs.  The discussion drifted past, present, future, rate of change, all the new leagues and who do we compete with and who do we want to compete with.

 

A motion was made and passed to split the Byte Size Coaching bill of 1200 dollars three ways.  Mod, United and the Association will each pay 400 dollars.

 

A motion was made and passed to reimburse FW United 350 dollars for nets.  Nets were provided to the City and County for use at fields for United games. 

 

 

GOOD OF THE GAME-  Women’s World Cup starts Monday.  Good job Sounders semi-finalist and making the playoffs.
