Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm.

Approval of Minutes: The minutes were approved as written for the May 2006 meeting.

President’s Report: U18 League Placement Tournament has kept me busy.

*  Lots of time on United duties of Blast Off and Director of Coaching Transition committee.  Primarily updating policies and working on setting a path for the club and director of coaching duties.  These will be coming to the full United club in the near future.

*  I want to look into a rule change to provide Director of Coaching personnel a club or association pass that will permit being on the side line, coaching, or training a team without being on the teams roster

Vice President’s Report: No report.

Secretary’s Report: Not present. No report.

Treasurer’s Report: Not present.  No report.

Registrar’s Report: Registration is now open.  Diane will handle the FWU Boy’s Registrar duties.  We do have a new FWU Girl’s Registrar, Susan Stanton.  The registration deadlines will be posted by next Wednesday in time for the FWU meeting.  WSYSA is changing their billing to every 6 months.  Next year the mod spring registration will be run like fall registration where everyone will register.

Risk Management: No report.

2nd VP of Administration: No Report.

Director of Fields: The City has a new Fields and Athletics Director: Tim Dickerson, 253-261-3299.

Celebration Park: Field 8 needs to be shrunk because the goal mouths are trashed.  The NE corner of field 7 has root damage.  It will need 6+ weeks of recovery time.  The plan is to play it narrow for the season and fix it after fall.  Field 7 will probably close early.  Schedule younger teams on field 7.

Beamer: Someone left the lock unlocked and so now the Club has lost their access to the parking lot.

Sequoyah: The lock was cut and thrown away at this field.

Lake Geneva: Received a bill for $5,000 for the fall season.

2nd VP of Coach and Player Development: Not Present.  No report.

District III MAR: Lots of talk about the U11-U13 PDL for spring and fall.  Many of the D3 representatives do not understand what is going on.  Not that we know the whole picture.  The communication is lacking and what we or the teams need to do has not been well communicated.

Because of the impression that the PDL will not let some clubs or associations participate, Ken Vannice has drafted a proposal for a District 3 U11-U12 PDL.  We are supposed to bring this to the clubs and associations for discussion.  My concern is that we are less than 2 months away from registration deadline and there is not enough time to form another new league.

Stu Snow reported that a District 3 team at the Spokane LPT’s did not head the lightning warnings and entered the fields prior to the all clear.  When in eastern Washington please heed the sirens and storm warnings.

Further discussion on the new team registration process and deadlines.  The goal is to have fewer bracket changes and schedules published earlier.

There is a DVD put out by US Youth Soccer called positive parenting.  It is very good and received positive comments from my U11 team parents.  District 3 approved procuring 100 copies for distribution.

Referee Representative: No fee increase, just adjustments to reallocate funds for a mentoring program.

Tournament Chair: Not Present.  No Report.

Web Master: No Report.

Mod Rep:  No Raise in fees for the fall season.

Director of Coaching: No report.
